Nightwing #20

Nightwing #20

Scott McDaniel, Chuck Dixon

komiksy

A worried Nightwing busts through the door to the G.C.P.D building. To his relief he finds Barbara Gordon safe as he was worried something had happened to her. She tells him even though her building is quake proof she came over to the G.C.P.D building to help guide rescue efforts via Satellite Uplink. He then tells her to be quite so he can enjoy seeing her alive, the moment is interrupted by Robin who Nightwing is surprised to see because he thought he was still in Europe. Oracle and Robin greet each other each stating that it was finally nice to meet one another as it was their first time meeting. Robin goes on to explain that the reason he was there was because he couldn't reach Batman or the Batcave. Nightwing agrees to what Robin says as he couldn't either and he asks Oracle what she could tell them but to their dismay she hadn't heard from Batman thinking that they had. Mean while Jim Gordon is discussing with the fire chief about the Davenport Center laying against Gotham Electric with all of Theater Row lying under it. The Fire Chief states how they're lucky that the earth quake happened before showtime as otherwise the theaters would be full. He then goes on to say how all eighty floors could drop any second and tells the Commissioner to get his men out in which the the Commissioner asks which of his men are in there. As he says this one of his men come out who's name is Detective Hawke, Gordon doesn't seem to remember his face as he says he always remembers faces but it turns out to be Batman in disguise. Nightwing and Robin take one of Bruce's many vehicles around the city, up The Manchester Viaduct up into the reservoir, they go to Wayne Manor only to fine most of it has collapsed into the cave. Oracle states that Bruce may be way past worrying about his alter-ego being revealed. Batman disguised as Detective Hawke barely pulls the last person out before the Davenport center collapses completely. Robin worried about his father goes to check on him as Tim Drake and finds him to be safe, they then embrace in a hug. Nightwing makes his way down into the cave and finds Harold and Alfred to be safe, but neither have heard from Bruce either since he left the cave through a subterranean stream.
