Lasting Treasures

Forced to flee her native land in the wake of the Russian Revolution, young Viktoria Gunsburg arrives n war-torn Paris with only the clothes on her back. She is swept off her feet by a charming American serviceman Gary Barton, and soon finds herself living as his bride in Virginia on the opulent Barton estate, also headquarters of the Barton tobacco empire. But Vicky is snubbed by Gary's spoiled, social-climbing sisters, ant the young couple's dream of a new life in New York City quickly fades as Gary finds himself unable to defy his tyrannical father. Desperate to find a diversion, Vicky becomes increasingly involved in Barton Tobacco. But as the company grows ever more successful, the dangers of smoking start to emerge. Vicky is caught. Her principles recoil from profiting from a product that kills. But those very profits are all that matter to her ambitious son. Just how far can her love excuse the terrible consequences of this dilemma?
